S1 - This image of a CLIPPER SHIP was obtained

from the British Library/Flicker Digital Capture

Project.  The image was taken from page 640 of

“Eighty Years Progress of British North America,

Showing the Development of its Natural Resources”,

by H. Y. Hind, T. C. Keefer, Charles Robb, John

George Hodgins, Moses H. Perley, and William

Murray.  It was published in London by Sampson

Low & Co. in 1863.

Being overall 5 inches wide and 6 3/4 inches high, this luminary has a 4 inch diameter disc of 1/2 inch thick glass, laser engraved with an image of a Clipper Ship.  The glass is mounted on a stone base being held in place by a custom designed bracket, produced by 3D printing.  Also attached to the base is an engraved black and silver metal plate with information about the image.

The glass and its image are illuminated from behind by a six lamp LED light (included) which is powered by 3 AAA batteries (not included).  This luminary makes a great night light or a light source to brighten a darker corner of your bookshelf.
