OPT10 - A glass luminary of Amy Johnson CBE,
(1 July 1903 – 5 January 1941). As a pioneering
English aviator she was the first female pilot to
fly alone from Britain to Australia. Flying solo or
with her husband, Jim Mollison, she set numerous
long-distance records during the 1930s.
She flew in the Second World War as a part of the
Air Transport Auxiliary and died during a ferry flight.

Being overall 5 inches wide and 6 3/4 inches high, this

luminary has a 4 inch diameter disc of 1/8 inch

thick glass, sandcarved with the image of

Amy Johnson   The glass is mounted on a stone

base being held in place by a custom designed

bracket, produced by 3D printing.

The glass and its image can be illuminated from behind

by a bright 4 lamp LED light (included) which is powered
by 3 AAA batteries (not included). This luminary makes
a great night light or a light source to brighten a darker

corner of your bookshelf.
