OPT09 - An image of a six cent, airmail, US postage
stamp commemorating the Wright Brothers 1st Flight,
issued Dec 17, 1949, the 46th anniversary of the first
free controlled and sustained powered flight by man
of a heavier-than-air aircraft on December 17, 1903,
four miles south of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
Being overall 5 inches wide and 6 3/4 inches high, this
luminary has a 4 inch rectangle of 1/8 inch thick glass,
sandcarved with an image of this stamp. The glass is
mounted on a stone base being held in place by a
custom designed bracket, produced by 3D printing.
Also attached to the base is an engraved black and
silver metal plate with information about the image.
The glass and its image are illuminated from behind
by a bright 4 lamp LED light (included), which is powered
by 3 AAA batteries (not included). This luminary makes
a great night light or a light source to brighten a darker
corner of your bookshelf.
